Tea began as a medicine and grew into a beverage.

- Okakura Kakuzo

Why organic?

Organic certification is very important when it comes to tea.

Non-organic teas are grown with the use of chemical pesticides, herbicides and fertilisers. Tea leaves are generally not washed before going into your cup. The first time tea comes into contact with water is when you brew it...

Organic farming protects you, the environment, and the lives of farmers around the world.

All our teas and herbals are certified 100% organic by the SOIL association.

0% Added flavourings.

Most teas on the market contain flavourings that are either artificial or “natural”. Even organic teas can be blended or sprayed with "natural flavours". These flavours – made in laboratories – mask the true flavour of tea.

"Natural" flavour means it can be derived from anything from a natural origin, including animals and genetically engineered foods:

. Castoreum (comes from the glans near the anus of a beaver): aka “natural raspberry flavor” (sorry to our vegan friends!).

. Cellulose (from wood): used to recreate a vanilla aroma.

Parigotte only source high quality teas: there is no need to mask their true flavours with flavourings.

Full leaf quality.

Have you ever opened a tea bag to see what’s inside?

Most tea bags are made of “tea powder”: dust and fanning from broken tea leaves; put simply: the waste.
The result is a bitter and astringent brew. Not only is tea dust detrimental to tea flavours but also most bags are bleached.

Non-organic teas are grown with the use of synthetic chemicals to increase the yield per crop. Our organic teas are grown naturally: they provide the best flavors and also better nutritional content.

In fact, comparing tea bags with full leaf quality is exactly like comparing a cheap wine (packed in a carton) to a great wine (in a bottle).

Parigotte only select organic, full leaf quality teas (unbroken leaves).

Ecological commitment.

At Parigotte we love high quality organic teas and we also want to keep our impact on the environment to a minimum.

You will never find any plastic in our packaging and our parcels:

. Our jars are made from glass which is 100% recyclable and doesn't alter the true flavor of the tea.

. Our tea samples are wrapped in small bags made from cellulose, which is 100% biodegradable and GMO free.

. Our parcels are made from recyclable cardboard and the tape we use is made of paper.

Our teas are also available as refill bags in order to replenish your jars.
