Our story.

Hello! Welcome to Parigotte Teas. So glad you are here.

I am Arlette, the founder of Parigotte. I am a foodie living in Brighton and I want to share my passion for real teas with you.

When I started looking for organic teas matching my high standards for quality, I quickly realised there was a huge problem in this market.

Many companies sell the health benefits of teas and at the same time grow them with synthetic pesticides, herbicides and fertilisers. Most often, they spray teas with perfumes, and blend them with “natural flavourings” to mask their poor taste (even organic teas). Consumers then believe they are buying “quality tea”.

When you brew tea using tea bags, most of them are either bleached or made from GMOs. This is before taking into account their impact on the environment: each year in the UK almost 60,000,000,000 (yes that's 60 billion) tea bags are thrown away. Not only is this a complete waste of paper, but the vast majority of tea bags are not fully biodegradable because they contain polypropylene. This is a real environmental issue and will not do any good to your health either.

At the end of the day, tea bags trade convenience for health and environmental impact.

So you think all these companies do this to make lots of money? Probably, but it is not the only reason.

They do it because they have to buy tea bags for consumer convenience, and expensive machines to package tea in tea bags. They also have huge marketing costs (think about it next time you see an advert for tea on TV).

So at the end of the day they do not have a lot of profit left and have no choice but to sell cheap or average quality tea at what people think is a “reasonable price”.

With nice packaging, good marketing and a lot of added flavors, people believe they are buying "quality teas".

We do not use any tea bags or added flavors. We prefer to put all of this money into one thing: top quality 100% organic teas, with no added “natural flavourings”, at a decent price.

Simple, gorgeous teas, delivered directly to you.

I like to keep things simple.
But you probably already figured that out.

Thanks again for visiting Parigotte Tea.
