A handmade ceramic dish to rest your smudge stick, Palo Santo or incense while it burns, and to keep your ritual corner tidy and beautiful.

What it is

A delicate smudge burner in natural stoneware, shaped by hand in Portugal by talented ceramist Madalena Telo. Its soft, organic oval and cream glaze sit beautifully on a shelf, an altar or a bedside table. Each piece is uniquely handcrafted, so colour and size may vary slightly: yours will be one of a kind.

What it is for

SMUDGE STICKS: rest your sage bundle after lighting it, and gently press the tip into the dish to put it out.

PALO SANTO: lay the stick down to smoulder safely; it goes out on its own and can be relit many times.

INCENSE STICKS AND ROPES: lay them flat in the dish to catch the falling ash.

How to use

1. Place the dish on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
2. Light your sage, Palo Santo or incense, let it burn for a few seconds, then blow out the flame.
3. Rest it in the dish while the smoke rises, and let the ashes fall into it.
4. Once cool, wipe the dish clean or wash it by hand.

Never leave burning herbs or incense unattended.
